ZGODBE SLOVENSKE ARHITEKTURE (STORIES OF SLOVENIAN ARCHITECTURE)
The idea of writing the book Stories of Slovenian Architecture, which will bring Slovenian architecture through all periods of time to the widest possible circle of people, has been smoldering for some time. Every time one of the students, children of acquaintances who wanted to study architecture turned to us to help them with advice on what to read in order to prepare for the interview during the entrance exam at the Faculty of Architecture, we were missing a book that would briefly outline the history of Slovenian architecture in an interesting and popular way, but nevertheless sufficiently professional and relevant. Many specialist books were already published, and there is a whole shelf of books about the architect Jože Plečnik alone. With the book Stories of Slovenian Architecture, we tried to make a selection of Slovenian architecture through time and space and convey it to a wider circle of readers through interesting stories.
In the year since it was published, the book has received a very good response from both the professionals and general public. And as Maja Ivanič wrote: "How necessary and desired popular content about Slovenian architecture was on Slovenian bookshelves, the fact that the book was already sold out a year after its publication speaks volumes." At the last book fair in 2021 in Cankarjev dom, the book was ranked among the ten best books of the year, which is relatively rare for popular professional literature.
